oh no you don't satan....

so on friday march 30, 2012 i got to experience that most every does, but i never thought i would... i got into my first accident. i will spare the details of the accident but lets just say i was the one that got a citation (even though it was not completely my fault... ;) ) anyway i was on my way to the elementary school when this occurred. well needless to say i was pretty shook up. i just kept thinking of all the pain and sadness this brought me but then i remembered a trick i was taught. it is called the gratitude game. what happens is whenever a situation arises that causes you to be sad or upset you find all the reasons to be grateful for the situation.  so i stood outside of my car and started playing the gratitude game... here are some things i came up with:

* no one was hurt
* our cars were not crushed to pieces
* no one was hurt
*my grandpa lived 20 minutes away and came to help
* i  have very understanding loving parents that care about me no matter what....
* i  know have something to blog about.
* there was teenage prison and i just stood there and watched them be in "bondage" which made me grateful that this accident occurred because i was in freedom.
* i will get to see my family this weakend
* i will get to listen to conference
* no one was hurt

i came up with more but these were just some of the few. I  was really tempted to have a pity party for myself but thats exactly what satan wants for us. we need to play the gratitude game and realize just how much we truly have to be grateful for. The rest of the day was such a big blessing. I got to spend time with amazing little kids who just make me feel like a million bucks, got to spend time at the temple in south jordan, got to see family and then have a wonderful conference weekend.

challenge: when problems arise and things look a little dim, look for all the things to be grateful for no matter how big or small.

 here is a picture of my car afterwards.  see not that bad :)
